Spiral Foods Organic Umeboshi Puree is Comprised of salty pickled plums. Made by casting off ume plum seeds and mashing the beef of the plum. It’s used as a seasoning in cooking and can be used to make sushi, rice balls and a number of delicious dips, salsa, sauces, salad dressings and seasoned vegetable dishes. Imparts a delicious tomato-like flavour. It also makes great tofu ricotta and is great on sweet corn. Plums contain shiso which is added all through pickling to impart a reddish colour and natural flavouring that stimulates appetite and aids in keeping up an alkaline system. Good for an unsettled stomach, indigestion and morning sickness. Don’t contain any artificial colourings, flavourings or sugar.
